COURSE INSTRUCTORS

DAVID LA MORTE
Mr. David La Morte had a career in the CIA which was preceded with active duty Army and National Guard assignments as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and Army Special Forces Intelligence and Operations Sergeant.
Mr. La Morte’s Counter Terrorism/IED experience stems from the 1970’s with the first instances of terrorist letter bombs being mailed to recipients in the USA, until retirement in 2013.
Mr. La Morte performed Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) duties as a full time EOD Technician as well as in the Army Special Forces and the CIA. He has taught or performed EOD Operations for the CIA, Secret Service, Drug Enforcement Agency, Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Federal Bureau of Investigation and participated in security preparations of the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and the 2002 Olympics in Utah. Mr. LaMorte was also a participant in founding the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO).
ERIK LAWRENCE
Erik Lawrence is a Green Beret veteran with a unique and varied background. Erik served in the elite U.S. Army Special Forces for over 10 years. After his military service, he worked as an independent contractor/paramilitary expert during the Global War on Terror (GWOT) for a U.S. government agency. He was involved in conducting dangerous and sensitive operations in many countries throughout the Middle East and Africa.
Tactical and firearms training continue to be at the forefront of Erik’s focus. Since 2005, he has trained members of elite military units from the U.S and allied countries, various U.S. government agencies as well as defensive firearms courses for civilians.
As an inventor and entrepreneur, he established multiple Service-Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). In the early 2000’s he established a tactical gear company/firearms manufacturer, a private security company and a tactical training company. He began inventing devices and systems on the training range or during operations in conflict theaters, where standard equipment sometimes failed to serve mission goals. He developed one of the most accurate and reliable high-end line of AR-platform rifles, and invented, developed and/or selected industry-leading products for clients. Some of his inventions remain available on the open market, while some are restricted to classified clients with unique needs.
Erik is a prolific hybrid author in the security and weapons arena. His books include tactical shooting techniques, weapons operations, security handbooks, and individual weapons use manuals. He has written numerous individual protection books, security-oriented books to include executive protection and company operating SOPs for large corporate security clients.
